Next The views from the Top of the Castle are outstanding. The castle stands hundreds of feet above the Cheshire plain, and offers views to the pennines in the east, and the Welsh mountains in the West. On a clear day both the Dee and the Mersey are visible, and the Liverpool cathedrals can be picked out. Towards the Penines it is possible to see the Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope. There is not enough detail in these images to see these features, but they can usually be seen with the naked eye, and easily with the aid of binocculars or telescope. Previous
